I followed the respective instructions, but I'm not able to use the downloaded file (/home/pi/Downloads/Sensor-ATmega_6.1.1.27575_0012.sbl-ota). I don't seem to be able to get any readings for lightlevel or lux from Hue motion sensors connected to a Conbee2 gateway. In addition to the App, you will also need devices such as a temperature sensor, smart plug, or thermostat to set it all in motion. If this tolerance is ± 1° your 2° are in range. Product ConBee II Question to installation: is this „std_otau_plugin.cpp“ the right file to install/compile? Hi, thanks all for working this out. The motion sensor will show motion, ambient light and temperature sensor info. Can this be changed simply by changing the value in the deCONZ GUI in the device parameter settings in ‚Max Measured Value‘? He took himself the longest time to re-connect, after the stick forgot about the entire network, but after some hours he came back by himself and restarts reporting. It seems this issue is inactive / resolved. Bluetooth range is more limited – Link Labs (which I mentioned earlier) also tested Bluetooth LE, finding a 77m range outdoors (compared to 291m with ZigBee). and I'm able to start deCONZ with GUI, it only has no own stick, but that should not hinder to install something, I guess. When I brought it back, three of the motion sensors weren't working at all, no updates, reads were failing from the deCONZ GUI. Kinda odd that it would happen independently for two sensors, though. Philips sensor is on firmware version 6.1.0.25261 and the Conbee II is on version 2.05.77. Presumably there's no obvious explanation for that? It's a shame, but I can't really recommend this motion sensor. I missed the aspect to do the update via STD OTAU, that I will test then in addition later on... Philips Hue Outdoor Motion Sensor range In the above video I do a test of the range, you can either watch it or read about it below. For the Huw sensor i didn’t find any information. I currently use Apple HomeKit which allows Philips hue motion sensor to show room temperature and give motion notifications. For temperature I used the Reporting Setting 10, 300, 20 as used by the SML001 internal Hue Motion sensors and wrote it to the device. That is possible with the help of the HTTP binding and the JavaScript transformation(JsonPath transformation is possible too but imho not flexible enough because it is not possible to modify the data immediately if we have/want to). ), Something like these: And in 4, you need to copy ../libstd_otau_plugin.so. Before I connected them to deCONZ I paired them all to a Hue Bridge to do FW updates. I will update here soon ... $ sudo apt-get deconz-dev (as you wrote) March 11, 2019 / Software version: 6.1.1.27575. I´ve just bought the sensor and the motion part is working properly. 6.1.0.18912 to Vers. Not sure if it was because of using the Home Assistant Deconz add-on though. Think I've finally gotten to the bottom of it though! I have the same issue with this sensor. The Philips Hue Bluetooth mobile app. yes it's all there, it has been a former clone from my prod system The worst issue I'm having at the moment is that whenever I have to take the server running deconz down for a short while, I always end up with at least one of the motion sensors which completely stops responding. Again with this sensor all three configuration variables were set to 65535. Restarting Conbee/phoscon or re-adding the sensor doesn't bring the illuminance to life. Writing 0x0030 fails. thanks @cweitkamp, that could be a way to go - then i would need a device (a third sensor, but which?!) As I mentioned before, if you do receive updates for motion and temperature, most likely the binding and/or attribute reporting for illumination haven't been setup. out of interest i checked the temperatures, to see if they measure (almost) the same - but i have a difference of 2° Celsius. you also wrote above. You can verify the reporting setup by double-clicking on Measured Value and press Read Config: Nope, don't get anything back from the deconz GUI when forcing a read from the cluster info (tried to explain that in initial post, sorry if it wasn't clear). My SML001 indoor Hue motion sensors report 65534 for that. Have a question about this project? Can this be fixed? He doesn’t need a motion detected for that. Most human would be dead reaching outside this range, and by then, there is no need to measure at all. One of them is working fine as a motion, and illuminance sensor but the temperature reading is always 0 degrees. For example, SmartThings sensors can be used to trigger Amazon Alexa routines, expanding what’s available there, and Philips Hue motion sensors can be used in Apple HomeKit Automations to do more there. The Hue motion sensors are certainly the least stable device types I have. Or is it simple like: $ sudo apt-get qmake (?). I attempted to bind as suggested in #340 (comment) but this doesn't work. The Good Hue's Outdoor Sensor works with Apple HomeKit, and it's actually three sensors in one -- motion, temperature and ambient light. A little bit concerned about those 3 sensors dropping out when I took deCONZ down for a bit though :(. All three will be available in HomeKit once the device is setup in the Hue … If you cant change the offset, then you´ll only be able to notice the differences between your bowl of water with ice, and the measuring. Another advice could be to use 2 or 3 references, and then use the average temperature as reference. .. oh, good hint, I really missed that. As I plan to steer my shutters with the illumi-measurement, I definitely need continuous data for that. By clicking “Sign up for GitHub”, you agree to our terms of service and Is there maybe a fix for that? If I connect them to the Hue bridge the light level works fine. Bit of an update on this, I tried adding another motion sensor to deCONZ over the weekend and this one was even worse. @maguiresf Which firmware version do you have on the Hue motion sennsor? For calibration our temperature sensors, I can only advice to get the very best temperature probe/measuring instrument you can afford. - Page 2 I will give it an additional try as following: Respective your hint about when the sensors sends the Illumination data: My outdoor sensor continuously sends it, or maybe in short intervals. It's quite bulky too. I have two Hue Motion sensors which does not work as intended. Worth noting is that both of them worked flawlessly with my Hue … No need to buy a Hue bridge; you should be able to update the Hue motion sensor firmware through the STD OTAU plugin in deCONZ, see https://github.com/dresden-elektronik/deconz-ota-plugin. at leas mum and dad will have one. Water can boild at 92 to 98 degree celcius. Maybe I need to ask if some colleague etc. Maybe I'll just need to wait a bit and see if it works itself out after some time. I do see the green link between the motion sensor and a lamp, which connects to ConBee II. Make sure to get one which has been calibrated close to the range you´re suppose to use it. Ok, that behavior fits to my observation how the outdoor sensor works. Same with manual writes that I have tried. Maybe you are interested in using the Offset Profile provided by the framework to adjust the value. The Hue sensor firmware update in the end became to complicated for me. The Samsung SmartThings Motion Sensor stands out among the few Alexa-compatible sensors because its long range ... Hue Smart Hub. Then I told him to remove the device from deCONZ and then rescan, still the same issue occured, but then after some time all of the sudden reporting started working. I haven't seen that before. Even though the temperature sensor has been working since I installed it earlier on in the day: How do I … The temperature should be EXACTLY 0°C on your probe, Then put a pan of water for boiling and boil away. The version of the Hue motion sensor is 6.1.0.18912, so I guess there is a newer one available but unfortunately I already sold my Hue bridge, so I cannot update it. Before connecting, make sure to press the reset button for 10 seconds, so it really resets. I'm running latest version of hass.io with the Deconz add-on on a RBPi4. Besides the now bigger issue #2273, now the indoor sensor seems to report in a stable manner. to your account. Maybe a suggestion for Deconz to do these configs automatically in a future firmware version if possible? I also have the same problems with me outdoor sensor, the sensor provides zero for lightlevel and temperature. Cruical as these sensore are: Before I started the update activities, the sensor suddenly reads the illumination by pressing the 'read' button in the cluster mask. I manually matched those up with the other sensor I added previously and that seemed to get the temperature reporting working. The Philips sensor is on firmware version 6.1.1.27575 and the Conbee II is on version 2.05.75 / 08/03/2020 and firmware 264A0700. I ended up pairing that with the Hue bridge and updating to latest firmware. How the bridge could get a measurement the Conbee cannot ? Ok thanks again. So, all in all seems my original issue with down to that version of firmware and the latest one seems fine. The sensor has been tested to work in rain and at temperatures between -20 degrees Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit) to 55 degrees Celsius (131 Fahrenheit). I've tried forcing a read from the deconz GUI and that always seems to return 0. to get the real calibrated temperature. Can someone provide the reporting values for the temperature measurement? Ok, now I'm really confused. Wonder if that is why the settings were strange, the device was still visible from the web UI, just greyed out. Gateway info: Vendor dresden elektronik i have gotten both of them and put them on the same spot in the living room I wonder if we’ll be able to get the 0x01 endpoint to work with the new firmware, binding the sensor directly to (a group of) lights. Temperature reporting seemed to work with just the changes I did, so did not have to fiddle with it. I have been able to write the correct values to these settings and they are retained if I go back and check again. He has been rescanning and re-adding while keeping the device awake and it would not report temperatures in this case. This got me the correct values once but they still do not update automatically. Firmware 26490700. You should check what the tolerances are. I'm having the same problem with a Phillips SML002 outdoor motion sensor. Thanks. Apologies for the lack of updates on this, I've been having some really annoying issues with my lights/deCONZ network and I've been fighting with them for the last couple of days. Wonder if that is why the settings were strange. Please open another issue as your issue might be different. I a bowl full of water AND ice, wait 1/2 hour for temperature to settle. I restarted my Docker Compose stack last night to install a Home Assistant Update and in the process restarted Deconz and this has kicked the temperature readings into life and now it appears to be reading as normal so my problem is solved. I don’t think that one of them is broken. All the lights, switches and Xiaomi sensors and stuff came back fine, just 3 of the Hue motion sensors, two on the latest firmware and that one on the slightly older one. Restarting deCONZ should trigger the checking and, when needed, re-applying of the reporting configuration. Stopping deCONZ before was clear for me . I left this alone for almost 24 hours to see if the issue would resolve without intervention but it didn't. PS. But then this issue occurred. I've tried to remove and setup the sensor a bunch of times. Sorry for the double-commenting, I deleted now. I have the Philips Hue Led stripe and also the Philip motion sensor. It added back fine the second time and the other two sensors added back fine too. I've manually set those to match the other sensor and restarted the deCONZ process. I've got 8 of them running with Conbee II, latest firmware / deCONZ version (stable) and they are working perfectly fine incl. I am running firmware 6.1.1.27575 on all of them. but you’d need to set up the Hue Bridge to work via the app. Edit2: Think I figured it out. Ie, if you need temperature about human body (37 degree celcius) you would probably calibrate somewhere between min/max, like 25 - 45 degree celcius. It was detected quickly and also picked up by Home Assistant. Looking into it more now that I can actually do stuff. OK, i did the ConBee firmware update, which was a bit tricky, but in the end worked. Probably about 4 times the size of the indoor sensor. Probably about 4 times the size of the indoor sensor. Happy to do anything needed to further debug the issue if required. When motions is detected it turns on and when no motions it turns off, in my case after 1 minute. So, let me show you a very simple way to get the motion sensor to work harder for you. The light levels were doing this same thing as previously, reading a 0 value even with a forced read. If the light levels don't start reporting after a few hours I'll attempt the debug steps posted earlier. Additionally, it has an ambient light sensor which is central to this tutorial. No this issue is not resolved. If you google it, you´ll notice quite a few topics about the motion sensor beeing 2 degrees celsius wrong. Also, compared to the indoor motion sensor, this device doesn't seem to have any temperature sensor. I have another two on 6.1.1.27575 which I need to migrate over to deCONZ that have only ever been attached to the Hue bridge, I'll see what happens with those and update the ticket. Edit: By tapping all the checkboxes (simple descriptors did not stick even after multiple tries) I managed to get at least the manual readings working. Sending commands to battery-powered devices is challenging, as they sleep most of the time, turning off their radio. Do the values update if you read the attributes of the Illuminance Measurement cluster in the Cluster Info panel in the deCONZ GUI? I'm not familiar with python developing. Version 2.05.64 / 4/22/2019 I then already changed the name to *.ota, which let the plugin discover the file, but then doesn't take it into the 'OTAU Update' mask. 6.1.1.27575. I suppose re-pairing them will resolve the issue but this does get a bit tiring having to do it every time. One sensor provides zero for lightlevel and temperature. Indoors the situation is expectedly worse, with Hue’s own product announcements from 2019 saying that you can expect a 30 foot (9.1m) indoor range. While the Hue Motion does not have this feature, it does have some significant competition as it actually contains three sensors in one. I don't quite remember how I setup my Pi for development (a long time ago), but I think that should be enough. Get one of these: It seems that the sensor is not updating the values by its own. The other one is only reporting illuminance and nothing else. In the UK, food outlets are required to do this once a week at least and get their probes lab calibrated once a year. When you have done this you have a calibrated probe. So this is infact not such a good idea to use boilded water. Auto activate lights with motion. They are normally quite accurate and can be used for this type of electronic calibration, omg ofc youre right, it shouldnt be hard to get a officially calibrated thermometer somewhere. (If you just want to round down to a whole number change the final line to round_truncate (officeTempF,0). This is the second motion sensor I've tried now and they've both had the same issue. Currently it’s not possible to retrieve data from Hue Motion Sensors or Hue Dimmer Switches from the Philips Hue binding (see https://github.com/eclipse/smarthome/issues/2603). I followed the instructions in this post here (once I had got my head around the Deconz GUI). I also tried resetting the device with no luck I noticed that the red light that usually lights up when motion is detected is also not lighting up. He added the device originally using deCONZ 2.05.52. How to create a temperature … Then second step to bind the occupancy sensing cluster to ConBee II Configuration Tool or whatever it is. You have to have at least one reference to measure your offset from. There is nothing to do than to live with it, as far as I know, or use a openhab rule to make a “software” calibration. light and temperature values. The reporting configuration and binding table are lost when factory-resetting the device (which you need to do to re-connect the device to deCONZ, after updating its firmware on the Hue bridge). Thanks for your reply! No special actions done. Also, compared to the indoor motion sensor, this device doesn't seem to have any temperature sensor. Since all sensors are now more than 24h properly reporting, I guess the ConBee II firmware update seems having been the answer to my problems. The ceiling can easily be 2-3 degrees warmer than the floor. The Hue bridge seems to cache the last reported value from the sensor and those are what get displayed in HomeKit. The vertical angle for sending motion is 80 degrees tilting slightly down so the higher you place the motion sensor the more range you will have. It turns on the light when you enter a room and shuts it off when no motion is detected to keep your energy bills down. privacy statement. I have 3 normal sensor working fine. The "delay" attribute in the REST API was set to like 122 where as on the other sensor it was 0. It works very well. Left them for a while to see if they came back, they didn't. I agree, I don't think it will resolve your issue. There is definitely light in the room, I've tested by placing the motion sensor right next to another one that is detecting a non-zero light level. With the bridge the light level is coming in Home Assistant. will try this and get back with the results. Hi, https://github.com/dresden-elektronik/deconz-ota-plugin, https://github.com/dresden-elektronik/deconz-rest-plugin, https://github.com/dresden-elektronik/deconz-ota-plugin.git, https://github.com/dresden-elektronik/deconz-rest-plugin/wiki/Update-deCONZ-manually#update-in-raspbian, https://developers.meethue.com/develop/hue-api/supported-devices/#supportred-sensors. ...this finally fixed it for me. It is a general problem with the Philips Hue motion sensor. Additionally I also had some strange issue where the sensor was holding onto the presence detected state for way to long. I think I may have added that second one to deCONZ when I first got it on whatever version of firmware it shipped with, noticed the light sensor wasn't working and added to Hue bridge thinking I'd mess with it when I had time. I know for sure last time I tried linking one of them it didn't seem to report light levels, maybe I just didn't leave it long enough. This weather-ready outdoor sensor from Philips Hue tracks motion, temperature and ambient light. I paired a Philips Hue Motion Sensor to Conbee II, it reports 1 lux in Home Assistant, 0 in Phoscon, and the same as you folks in Deconz, I bought an old Hue V1 bridge, reset both and automagically they paired to each other. I had to take it down today and I've ended up with 3 out of the 4 of them stuck in a state where the deconz GUI appears to show them not connected to the network, they don't generate events and none of the attributes update.
